Packing for California

In a week I'll be in California. It's been over two years since I've flown anywhere and I can't say that I'm looking forward to it.

One thing that is different though is that this will be the first time I've flown since reading The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up and vowed conversion to a minimalist lifestyle. which should mean that if I'm back to the basics and living a paired down lifestyle, packing shouldn't be complicated. Right?

Within the last year I relieved my closet of most of my brightly colored items and transitioned into having a more neutral closet in hopes of being able to better pair more pieces together, so with my minimalist aspirations and neutral-capsule-closet-wanting should help encourage me to pack lightly. I've of course Pinterested a lot about packing and I found the how. And the what.

This was a pretty cool review of DIY hacks on lightening your load. I plan on recording what I end up packing for California, because in October I'll be traveling again and will hopefully find that I was successful in my light-packing ventures.

Destination: Chattanooga

A few weeks ago I went with a friend to Chattanooga.

It was an incredible experience. I had no expectations for the city. I really had never given Chattanooga any thought. So I was very pleasantly overwhelmed with all the amazingness of it all. It is gorgeous! With mountains all around us, it made the Californian in me very happy.
