Social Media: Be OK with Letting Go of the Unimportant...Because It Is Unimportant

Let go of the past and
the past will let go of you.

Social media can be a beautiful thing—but it can also be the worst.

It can make you feel lonelier than you really are, less loved than you really are and less beautiful than you really are.

How many likes you get or don't get can affect your mood and your day, especially if you expect your friends to like your photos or comments and they don't.

To spare yourself all those negative feelings and any questioning of your worthiness, I have a few things that I've found helpful.

Who I Want to Be in a Year

I knew this when I was younger — that the best way to become the person you want to be is map out who you want to be in a year. After all, you have to know where you're going before you can start on the road to getting there.

When I thought about this today, about who I want to see in myself in a year, three words came to mind.

Marriage: My Three Words 2017


This year on June 22, 2017, T and I celebrated three years of marriage together.

Last year, we both chose three words to describe our second year of marriage. This year—albeit it's a little late—we are doing the same.
