Baby: We're having one!

When T and I first got together and even through most of our marriage we thought we wouldn't be interested in having any kids. We'd be happy with just us. But then I don't know what happened, but we both decided we wanted to have a baby!

So we started trying in April, and when May rolled around I was really disappointed when it didn't happen. We decided not to stress about it and we took a beach trip at the end of June to relax. I was late by the time the beach trip rolled around, but didn't want to think too much about it. Maybe it was a fluke? Maybe I was more stressed than I thought? Maybe I was just incredibly exhausted from life?

But when we came home from the beach trip and I still hadn't had my period, we decided to take a test. So on my birthday weekend, we took two tests and both confirmed our hope--we are pregnant! So surreal!

T's parents were coming over for a birthday dinner, and I called my parents over at the same time and it was then that we announced to them that we were expecting. It worked out for the best and I'm glad we got to tell them together.

It's so exciting! We're nervous of course, but ready for what comes next! We're having a baby!

Day 4: Beach Trip

This was our last day at the beach, in our little home away from home. We got up early again to enjoy some time out on the patio watching the waves roll in and drinking coffee. It was a nice morning.

After we cleaned up the apartment and dropped the key off, we stopped at The Ruby Slipper. I wanted to stop here because it reminded me of our time in New Orleans together and I remembered really enjoying our meal.

T got the Eggs Cochon and Hot Smoked Salmon bennie.

And I decided to go with the Eggs Cochon and Chicken St. Charles. The Eggs Cochon is so, so good.
