Day 1: Beach Trip

We were so excited to go to the beach. We planned it really quick and things just seemed to fall into place. We found both had to use our personal days from work, we found an Airbnb, and bam! We were on our way!

The drive didn't seem that long. We had some podcasts picked out and an audio book that helped passed the time. There was some construction along the way, but nothing too bad. We also planned ahead and brought a cooler with meat and bread to make sandwiches so we wouldn't have to stop along the way, so that saved us some time and money.

The first thing we did when we got into town was eat at Papa Rocco's of course! This is hands down one of T's favorite places. We have some good memories there.

This time I ordered some baked oysters and asked T if he would have some, and he did! He said the baked ones were definitely better than others we've had. Even I think I'm beyond eating raw oysters now. They had some great cocktail sauce and horseradish; they were so good!

We got nearly the same thing we got last time: shrimp alfredo and a shrimp, onion, and cheese pizza, but they forgot the shrimp. T was right, we could definitely taste the difference, but ate it anyway.

There's my happy guy! We had full bellies after that, and were super happy. It was a great way to start out our time in Florida.

We were about 20 minutes away from our Airbnb. T was a little bit disappointed with the cleanliness of the place. There was a spill in front of the fridge, spackle on the walls, some bugs--but overall I was happy. I mean, we were RIGHT next to the beach! My heart was happy.

We relaxed for a little bit before we went out on the beach. T used to love Jersey Shore, and Jersey Shore: Family Vacation marathon was on, so we curled up and watched some of those episodes before heading down to the beach.

We could see from our balcony that the beach was clearing out, so we headed down and found a little spot for us to relax. The chairs we bought from Target came in handy! I was happy we were able to use them.
